Q: What does my Medicare cover?
A: Your Medicare coverage is dependent on the type of policy you have.  Either check your policy or call your representative for specific details. Medicare coverage also depends on the seriousness of your medical condition and whether you could have been transported safely by another means.

Q: What does my Medicaid cover?
A: Coverage varies from state to state and you should check with your representative with specific questions.

Q: How do I schedule a wheelchair transport?
A: Call 716-664-4700 and speak to the communications specialist. The communications specialist will take all the necessary information and schedule the transport. Depending on the type of insurance you have, you may have to pay for the transport at the time of service.

Q: What happens if I need an ambulance for an emergency and do not have coverage?
A: If you feel you have an emergency situation that requires you to go the hospital, call 911 or ALSTAR EMS and request an ambulance. An ambulance will be sent to you and transport you to the hospital. Insurance coverage is never taken into consideration for emergency calls.

A: Our service is dependent on the service we provide.  Our staff are highly trained professionals are capable of delivering various levels of care for you.  The cost of our service depends on what level of service you receive, how far you are transported and what specific care you received.
